There are many reasons why living in La Jolla is a great privilege.  First, if you're looking for a location that's close to your place of work and yet travel only a few minutes to get to a haven of relaxation where you can shed your stress away, well La Jolla is it.  You have the ocean and the beach at the palm of your hands.  You even have the hills around Mount Soledad to add to your solitude.  Even the weather is on your side giving you 70 degree temperature year-round.

Second, you'll naturally want an environment that mirrors your desires in life.  If you're into culture and the arts, you'll feel right at home with city's many art galleries especially the Museum of Contemporary Arts which is both an architectural and cultural landmark in San Diego.  You'll also get to experience one of the finest art festivals in the US, the annual Festival of the Arts and Food Faire.  If you're into sports activities, like golfing, the Torrey Pines Golf Course is your destination.  Water activities, like skim boarding and surfing are a staple along the beaches. Shopping and dining are also popular activities with a lot of gourmet restaurants and a variety of stores to suit your fancy.

One of the things that you also consider when moving to a new place especially when you have kids are the educational institutions. La Jolla has its fair share of quality schools features several preschool, elementary and high school options. The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) is right here as well as Scripps Institute of Oceanography. According to school data provided by the state of California, schools located in the city of La Jolla have always performed in the top 10 percentile of all schools in California.
